Onward + Upward

Hey everyone–little disclaimer: this will be Cross Stitch’s last post. We’d like to thank everyone that’s been with us throughout this project, who’s supported us, read our material, liked our pages and followed along for the ride. You guys have been amazing and we so so SO appreciate everything. We’re going to be pursing different endeavors and we hope ya’ll understand. Onward and upward as they say!

For this shoot, we went to a hiking spot in the area and it was so picturesque that day! Little did I know it was also supposed to be very warm and pants suddenly seemed like a horrible idea.

I’m not usually a printed pants girl anyhow, but I loved these navy and white combo from H&M. It was the first time I’d worn them and had a little trouble picking out a top to go with! I, of course, fell back on my ol’ faithful (read: black) but it grounds the pants and makes them less crazy. (That’s my excuse and I’m stickin’ to it!)

The half-tucked top was a nod to my stylish co-workers, and is definitely a styling cheat I will be using more often. Paired with a long necklace and simple black flats, this is a great every-day outfit when you want to step outside the box and try something a bit bolder than you’re used to.

We hope we’ve inspired you guys to rummage through your own closets and mix and match different styles and separates. Not every thing needs to be the newest of the new and you can often rework old articles of clothing–it just takes some imagination! Style is a form of expression and you shouldn’t be afraid to express yourself!

Top: Forever 21 // Necklace: H&M // Pants: H&M // Shoes: Steve Madden.

The grass is definitely greener on the other side! Spring is here, and Michelle’s back from her recent trips! Most recently visiting New Orleans, one of her favorite places for its vibrancy and culture. (Hence the colorful new skirt!) She’s even sporting her new bright red lipstick straight from the UK!

There’s something called Red Nose Day in the UK, where every two years people wear a red nose for the day to raise awareness and money to help fund life-changing projects. Why a red nose? To provide comedic relief and entertainment for a good cause! Red Nose Day may have already passed in the UK, but it’s coming to the US for the first time on Thursday, May 21st!

Top: Naked Zebra, McCaulou’s; Bralette: Free People; Skirt: The Impeccable Pig, New Orleans; Shoes: TOMS; Hat: Ella J. Boutique; Lipstick: Kate Moss’ Red Nose Red 01 for Rimmel London.
