“USA Believe” t-shirt by Bring Hockey Back. I am a huge fan of hockey, comfy t-shirts, and supporting small companies, so when I saw BHB released this new design in honor of the 30th anniversary of the “Miracle On Ice” at Lake Placid, I just had to have it!
Lemon Zinger herbal tea by Celestial Seasonings. Being a big tea drinker, Winter or not, I had my work cut out for me when looking for a decaffeinated tea that didn’t make me want to cozy up in bed and I found just the one!
“She will touch the leaf of the apple, and die!” decal by Decalology Designs on Etsy. Aurora, was my favorite Disney princess growing up so I took to Etsy to find the perfect decal for my Macbook. I ended up custom ordering from Decalology Designs and had a beautiful outcome.
Urban Decay Naked series fountain (shade 3.5 ). I am not your girl when it comes to makeup, I mean except for certain events I successfully avoided it till I was 21! But a good friend taught me the ropes and set me up with this foundation and now I wear makeup every day!
Red Nose Red 01 lipstick by Kate Moss for Red Nose Day. After living in London for four months, I, like many Brits, get stoked when Red Nose Day comes around (although Americans think I’m a little crazy for wanting to wear a red clown’s nose). One of the efforts to raise money for the country-wide fundraiser was a new Kate Moss lipstick and I absolutely love the shade of red!
With Winter now in the past it’s time for me to launch into buying all things Spring, so look out world!
I know I said in my Fall Favorites post that I was combining both my Fall and Winter favorites, but because Spring Equinox is this Friday (March 20th), Michelle and I wanted to close out the season with our Winter favorites before Spring officially begins!
Without further ado, my Winter favorites:
1. Sam Hunt‘s Montevallo album. As soon as I heard “Leave The Night On”, I was hooked! Fun fact: Sam co-wrote Keith Urban‘s hit song “Cop Car” which Sam also recorded for Montevallo! If you like Florida-Georgia Line, I guarantee you’ll like Sam Hunt!
2. My burgundy mini mason jar & succulent by Twine & Dandy. If you haven’t bought a mason jar from Twine & Dandy yet, what are you waiting for?!
3. Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia:
(Their Lip Crayons are really nice too!)
4. My white cable knit sweater from Forever 21 & statement necklace from Charming Charlie:
5. My Ella J. “Proud Supporter Of Messy Hair And Sweatpants” sweatshirt! Soooo cozy!
What were some of your favorites this Winter?
I know it says Fall, but I got a little creative with this shoot so perhaps “Winter” would be more appropriate. Actually, let’s go with Fall/Winter faves. In all honesty, I’m surprised Michelle didn’t spell hers “favourites” — what with her Brit wit and all! 😛
Anyhow, without further ado, here are my f/w favorites:
Frosty sporting Sam’s Fall/Winter faves
“Berry Naughty” nail polish by Essie and Sally Hansen’s Gel Nail Polish “Blacky O”
THE BEST top coat by Sally Hansen — dries SUPER fast
Black-on-black sunnies from local department store McCaulou’s
Frosty lookin’ cozy in a trendy plaid scarf from McCaulou’s
Thanks for hangin’ onto my Blu Pepper olive anorak jacket with plaid accents, Frosty!
Honorary favorites are definitely my black Charlotte Russe lace-up boots from this photoshoot and Taylor Swift’s new album 1989. If you think I’m not totally blasting her album while I’m writing this post YOU ARE WRONG.
So those are my favorites! Plaid’s having a moment right now which I am LOVING (clearly, with 2 plaid items in my favorites!) My go-to outfit for Fall pretty much incorporates half the list. You’ll almost always catch me in my black lace-up boots, olive anorak (which I am never taking off, ever), and if the sunny California weather cooperates, then I’m definitely sporting my black-on-black sunnies.
When I occasionally paint my nails, it’s usually black — no surprise there. I really like the Sally Hansen gel polish because it dries quick and doesn’t nick super easily (and I suck at not screwing up my freshly-painted nails). “Berry Naughty” is a great holiday color — paint on two coats and it’s this really rich burgundy which is a nice Fall alternative to bright red nails.
Promise we’ll be back with more OOTD posts and a special OOTD with our friend Sarah shortly! Happy December everyone!
(P.S. is it time for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to air yet?! Dying over any and all Instagram pics!)
Now that November has come and passed (but actually, how is it December already?!) we thought we would both share a couple of our favorite items that we purchased this past month!
Wonderful Wick candles, One Direction’s latest album “FOUR”, lipsticks and clothing
Hooked On Pink 065 by Maybelline and Diva Red 500 by Rimmel London
I’m just gonna fess up right now, I have a shopping problem… but I’m putting the blame on November! All those sale signs surrounding me, just begging me to buy this cute skirt and those shoes I just can’t live without…
I made a split decision while standing in the makeup aisle at Target that I was going to start wearing lipstick, having been more of a chapstick girl in the past. Since I didn’t know if I would end up liking lipstick at all I went with cheaper brands and bought two sticks; one from Maybelline, the other Rimmel London, and it turns out I love both!
Another thing I purchased on a whim were candles; a super simple yet dramatic addition to your surroundings. They add a calm feel to the room when I’m working on my laptop, especially the Wonderful Wick brand, they have a wooden wick so it crackles like a little fireplace!
Black Friday sales persuaded me to purchase a black “moto” jacket by Articles of Society as well as my new favorite skirt by Honey Punch, in cranberry. Both are found at a local Bay Area boutique, Ella J!
And last but most certainly not least, One Direction’s newly released album, FOUR! Sorry not sorry, long time Directioner right here!
Sam’s favorites are soon to follow, so keep those eyes peeled! Hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving as well as a great start to December!
